how about a vase

same technique, different result.

another pitcher

All of my production techniques are at work here. It is really satisfying to me to integrate all of them and I would like to continue working like that.

The body at the bottom is from a plaster mold. The top is made on the wheel and then set on top. The handle is handcrafted using imprints to create a interesting structure.
I love patterns in clay, like this.

Dragon pot!

I call this one the dragon pot.
This glaze is wonderful. The effect of the reduction in the kiln shows up beautiful and the change from green to red is in this pot really perfect.

That brings you into a complete different categories of teapots and generates a lot of ideas.

My favorite!

My absolute favorite.
It is on display at leaping lotus. I really had a hard time letting him go. But I always can make more.

If you like this one as much as I do, let me know. I make one for you. The cups are individually made on the wheel.

a bunch of teapots glazed

I just had the kiln opening. This is always an exciting event, because there are always surprises. Good ones and bad ones. This time it worked out good and all the teapots made it.
Here they are.

More of  what came out of the kiln in the next blogs.

a whole bunch of tea pot's

Looking at all the wacky tea pots somehow got me started to make more. Now that I'm all excited about it I'll keep going and make more. Since my mind is so strongly on that I might as well post it, even it's raw und unglazed.

on the wacky side

To create a tea pot with fitting cups is always a fun assignment. There are thousands of wonderful examples out there. Here is a little wacky one that I made a while ago. It has potential.

The Pitcher

I think that one came out really well and I hope a lot of people think so too. It goes with all my cups (surprisingly) and it creates a great platform for my glazes. This one especially because the reduction that you can create with a gas kiln shows up here very beautiful.

Personalize!

Have your business name and logo on your cup. Like the "solo tango". That's the wine that made it to 1st place on last years blind wine tasting competition in the Valle de Guadalupe, the wine region in Baja. Find out more about the wine maker here.

Do you want your logo on a mug? Send me a e-mail or see samples on my website.

The kiln is at 2100 degrees fahrenheit!

The tools next to the cup are for checking the measurements of the stamp.

Hey, Where Is My Cup?

For all you artists out there, be very careful when putting animals on your artwork.

Goldie gave me the coldest of cold shoulders for an hour!
